Topshop and River Island<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So as mentioned in my last post, my money has been burning a little bit of a hole in my pocket recently. A combination of having no boyfriend around and the fact that I threw all of my warmer clothes out before leaving for Sydney meant that I just HAD to invest in some new pieces. That's complete justification, right?!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LMa7X4_KF3U/UxyGHLX8B9I/AAAAAAAABxY/ISRTxZr9yqk/s1600/Billabong+Bikinis+Sydney+2014.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LMa7X4_KF3U/UxyGHLX8B9I/AAAAAAAABxY/ISRTxZr9yqk/s1600/Billabong+Bikinis+Sydney+2014.JPG" height="428" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<i style="color: #444444;"><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<i style="color: #444444;">Billabong Bikinis</i></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Now having just mentioned warmer clothes, these two purchases quite obviously don't belong here. But, I thought they were just too pretty not to show off. These gorgeous sets are from Billabong and boy do those Aussies know how to make a good bikini! Having tried, and failed, for years to get away with cheapo purchases from Primark and H&M, I decided enough was enough and I should invest in some proper swimwear. And what can I say - I will never go back. I will definitely be trawling the surf shops of the UK to pick up some more further down the line.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have been a huge fan of Topshop Leigh jeans for years - rave review <a href="http://www.lifeandlashes.com/2012/02/dream-jeans.html" target="_blank">here</a> - but when a friend declared her love for the Jonis, I had to give them a shot. I was not disappointed. They are made of the same super soft, super stretchy fabric as the Leighs but come up a lot higher - which helps disguise the post-pizza food baby that is an all too common occurrence - and also seem to fit a lot skinnier on the lower leg. As with the Leighs, they are also really reasonable at around the £38 mark and are available in a vast array of colours and prints. I'll absolutely be investing in a few more pairs for Spring. <a href="http://www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/clothing-427/jeans-446/joni-super-high-waisted-jeans-1108/moto-pineapple-print-joni-jeans-2785700?refinements=category~%5b941191%7c208527%5d&bi=1&ps=20" target="_blank">Pineapple jeans</a> anyone?!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i><a href="http://www.riverisland.com/women/t-shirts--vests--sweats/print-t-shirts--vests/White-tres-en-vogue-madame-t-shirt-652133" target="_blank">River Island Tres En Vogue T-Shirt</a> and <a href="http://www.asos.com//Asos/Asos-Jumper-With-Side-Zip-Detail/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=3344379" target="_blank">ASOS Side Zip Jumper</a></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm loving white tops at the moment and these two purchases are ideal for Spring when layers are a necessity. They are exactly the sort of items I love to wear for work - easy to throw on with jeans or skirts and a nice change from the dark colours I usually go for. It is starting to get slightly too warm for the thick jumper but this is the perfect neutral knit to throw in your suitcase to wear on holiday when the sun goes down.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JJNFGSP-7X4/UxyF-AFB5hI/AAAAAAAABxQ/3DuqqCU3FFw/s1600/Ralph+Lauren+Pyjamas+Bicester+Village.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JJNFGSP-7X4/UxyF-AFB5hI/AAAAAAAABxQ/3DuqqCU3FFw/s1600/Ralph+Lauren+Pyjamas+Bicester+Village.JPG" height="428" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<a href="http://www.bicestervillage.com/en/brands/item/ralph-lauren-home" target="_blank"><i>Ralph Lauren Pyjamas</i></a><br />
Lastly, as much as I hate to admit it, my onesie has been proving a little bit too warm recently and some new Spring PJs were in order. I'm normally a Primark kind of gal but as I'm now in the second half of my 20s (emits a little sob) I thought some grown up jammies were in order. I picked these from the Ralph Lauren Home outlet at Bicester Village so they were really reasonable at around £40 for the set. Not cheap, but not outrageous and they are SO comfortable that they were 100% worth it. Good job RL!<br />
<br />
Are you also a fan of Topshop jeans? Do you splash a little extra cash on PJs & swimwear? Let me know! xx<br />

Soap & Glory and Hydraluron<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So it would appear that being 10,000 miles away from your boyfriend will result in two things: </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
1. You will comfort eat everything in sight (mini eggs for breakfast anyone?)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
2. You will spend every free moment shopping to distract yourself </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Point 1? Definitely not ideal. Point 2? Fantastic. <span style="font-size: x-small;">(Especially as you will need to buy new skinnies as your old ones no longer fit, due to aforementioned Point 1)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Boots has therefore been luring me in over the last few weeks. And with the all too tempting 3 for 2 offers on, it would be rude to just walk out with 1 thing in hand. Right?!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here's a few bits I've picked up recently:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UrCFD5pLt_c/UxyLAeV9DcI/AAAAAAAAByI/NMMa7xPZU1M/s1600/Soap+&+Glory+Haul.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: black;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UrCFD5pLt_c/UxyLAeV9DcI/AAAAAAAAByI/NMMa7xPZU1M/s1600/Soap+&+Glory+Haul.JPG" height="428" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<br />
<a href="http://www.boots.com/en/Hydraluron-Moisture-Booster-From-Indeed-Labs-the-people-who-brought-you-Nanoblur_1262210/" target="_blank"><span style="color: black;">Hydraluron Moisture Booster - £24.99</span></a><br />
<br />
This is another beauty blogger favourite that up until now I've never had a chance to try out. Loved by the wonderful <a href="http://www.carolinehirons.com/2012/08/hall-of-fame-hydraluron.html" target="_blank">Caroline Hirons</a>, this <span style="font-family: inherit;">product claims to contain the </span><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">worlds purest grade of hyaluronic acid which can attract 1,000 times its weight in water. As such, it promises to </span>significantly<span style="font-family: inherit;"> increase your skin's hydration and ensure that any moisturiser you put on top will do its job ten fold.</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">I've been using this for around a week now so I don't feel I can do a proper review just yet but I have noticed that my skin does feel less tight during the day. My make up also seems to stay put for longer so it's looking good so far. I will be sure to post a full review in a few weeks.</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></span>
<a href="http://www.boots.com/en/Oilatum-Natural-Repair-Face-Cream_9627/" target="_blank">Oilatum Natural Repair Face Cream - £7.65</a><br />
<br />
I've been using this as my daily moisturiser now for around 3 years, even since Nic from Pixiwoo raved about it in one of her videos. I have very dry and dehydrated skin but a pea sized amount of this every morning ensures my skin stays supple and plumped up all day. It's also very reasonably priced and easily available in most high street chemists. I can't see myself straying from this any time soon.<br />
<br />
<span style="color: black;"><a href="http://www.boots.com/en/No7-Beautiful-Skin-Melting-Gel-Cleanser-for-Normal-Dry-Skin-150ml_1245016/" target="_blank">No7 Beautiful Skin Melting Gel Cleanser for Normal / Dry Skin - £9.50</a></span><br />
<br />
I did a <a href="http://www.lifeandlashes.com/2013/02/battle-of-cleansing-gelsclarins-vs-no7.html" target="_blank">review</a> of this last year where I compared it to the Clarins equivalent. I still stand by everything I wrote back then and continue to use this as my normal cleanser. I love how it leaves my skin squeaky clean but without that horrible dried out feeling that some products can leave behind. Using this every morning and evening ensures my face is left thoroughly cleansed but radiant and soft at the same time.<br />
<br />
<span style="color: black;"><a href="http://www.boots.com/en/Max-Factor-2000-Calorie-Waterproof-Mascara_1244777/" target="_blank">MaxFactor 2000 Calorie Waterproof Mascara - £7.99</a></span><br />
<br />
I absolutely hate buying mascara so when I find one that I love, I tend to stick with it. Enter: MaxFactor 2000 Calorie. This plumps up my lashes, adds length and gives them curl. It also doesn't flake, smudge or cost the earth. A complete winner in my eyes and one I would recommend to anyone.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.boots.com/en/Beauty/The-Beauty-Boutique/Soap-Glory/" target="_blank"><span style="color: black;">Soap & Glory Clean On Me £6.00, Flake Away £8.00, Righteous Butter Lotion £10.00</span></a><br />
<br />
I absolutely love the Soap & Glory brand and I always like to have a few of their products on the go at any one time. This classic trio with the original scent are favourites of mine and ensure that I'm left scubbed, buffed and moisturised to within an inch of my life. I am also completely in love with the new Righteous Butter Lotion - the same great body butter we have come to know and love but in a slighter thinner consistency and in a convenient pump activated bottle. So easy to apply in a rush, it sinks it much quicker than the original but leaves your skin just as soft and smooth. S&G - you have outdone yourselves!<br />
<br />

The sunny beach days and balmy evenings are all rolled into one magical hazy image. I like to think all the memories will stay tucked in a little box at the back of my mind; ready to be opened when I have a quiet moment to look back.<br />
<br />
Better still, I can dip into the vast amount of photos I took. Moments that will be frozen in time for ever. Snapshots that will bring the sounds and the smells rushing back. Here are a few of my favourites that I thought I would share with you.<br />

<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 24px;">A little while ago, the blogosphere was alight with the buzz of an Essie polish named Fiji.</span></span></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Before I had even seen swatches of the colour, I knew I had to have it. Not because of the blogger stamp of approval or the Essie gorgeousness guarantee; no, this was purely for the name.</span></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br />Fiji is quite possibly my favourite place on Earth. In 2008, I spent a magical month there with my best friend. We almost wrote off a car driving around the mainland, put ourselves off rum for life after consuming far too much on a boat party and got the best tans of our lives sunbathing on the islands. It was the most incredible month of my life. And I knew having a polish named after the place that holds so many memories would make me smile every time I wore it.</span></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-imLhE-yjSx0/UxyN0qkgwkI/AAAAAAAAByg/NTY_LkrbP0w/s1600/Essie+Fiji.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-imLhE-yjSx0/UxyN0qkgwkI/AAAAAAAAByg/NTY_LkrbP0w/s1600/Essie+Fiji.JPG" height="428" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I wasn't wrong.</span></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br />Apart from the mental images this name conjures up, the colour of this polish is beautiful. A milky pink-toned nude which can be layered and built to your desired level. Personally, I prefer to lay down 3 coats to provide a true opaque light pink but 1 coat will leave you with a gorgeous delicate off-white finish.</span></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uaboSO8JPBc/UxyN6zsv2JI/AAAAAAAABys/QV-Pj1SzqyQ/s1600/Essie+Fiji+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uaboSO8JPBc/UxyN6zsv2JI/AAAAAAAABys/QV-Pj1SzqyQ/s1600/Essie+Fiji+2.JPG" height="428" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I've got through about 3 bottles of this now and can't see myself stopping there. In classic Essie fashion, it applies smoothly and - with a good quality base and top coat - I can get a solid 4 days worth of wear out it. </span></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Fiji, you definitely did not disappoint. </span></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IE7dp4h4Ng8/UxyN7UYyU6I/AAAAAAAAByw/dqOiAdZgji4/s1600/Essie+Fiji+3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IE7dp4h4Ng8/UxyN7UYyU6I/AAAAAAAAByw/dqOiAdZgji4/s1600/Essie+Fiji+3.JPG" height="428" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Now, all that I have to do is save up my pennies and return to the idyllic islands, with a little bottle of this in tow.</span></div>

<br /></div>
<div>
It started off in the Southern Hemisphere in balmy Sydney with most days spent at the beach; it ended in frosty London, back at work and in a long distance relationship. Not quite what I had in mind but when does life ever go to plan hey? I got back to the UK around 2 weeks ago and feel like I haven't stopped since. Although, I've still had time to rediscover some fantastic old favourites and happily shop for some new ones. And who better to share them with than you lovely lot?! Here goes...<div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-h-bKDm_gzbM/UxtekXxtYYI/AAAAAAAABw8/EL439dLDHYY/s1600/DSC_0009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-h-bKDm_gzbM/UxtekXxtYYI/AAAAAAAABw8/EL439dLDHYY/s1600/DSC_0009.JPG" height="428" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>- <a href="http://www.boots.com/en/SEVENTEEN-Mirror-Shine-Lipstick_1281281/" target="_blank">17 Beehive Lipstick</a> </b>is a product that was hugely hyped in Blogger World a few years ago now. It's a beautiful lipstick with a perfect 'my lips but better' hue and the formulation is creamy and just the right side of glossy. I repurchased it time and time again but then, as usual, my head was turned to other products and I forgot all about it. That was until last week. I spied it in Boots with its incredible new packaging - why has nobody thought of a mirror in the tube before?! - and have worn it every day since. The other bonus? It's an absolute steal at £4.79. Dreamy!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
- The little red pot is a sample size of <a href="http://www.clarins.co.uk/instant-smooth-perfecting-touch/C050105002.html" target="_blank">Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch</a>, which was gifted from a friend. I haven't used a primer in ages but dug this out last week and it's love already. It does everything you want a primer to do - fills in fine lines and pores, creates a super smooth base for your foundation and then ensures it doesn't sink into your skin over the course of the day. You only need the tiniest amount so this pot will last a while but I think £26 for the large pot is totally worth it and I'll definitely be investing.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
- When it comes to perfume, I'm a total creature of habit. So when my Mum sent me off to Australia with a bottle of Armani Diamonds I was a little wary. But it turns out she knows best - as always! - and it's a great scent that I get compliments on whenever I wear it. From now on, I vow to be more adventurous. Maybe...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
- I'm also branching out with skincare as I'm unfortunately not getting any younger and really starting to notice it in my skin. I've been seriously impressed with all of the products I've tried from the Boots Botanics range but this <a href="http://www.boots.com/en/Botanics-Radiant-Youth-Microdermabrasion-Polish-120ml_1262003/" target="_blank">Microdermabrasion Polish</a> is definitely the winner. About once a week, I gently massage a pea sized amount of this all over my face, concentrating on any problem areas. It not only makes my skin feel amazing but I can see the difference instantly as well. I look forward to Sunday nights purely so I can use this - it's a true Holy Grail product.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
- I'm not sure what else to say about <a href="http://www.lookfantastic.com/kms-california-tamefrizz-taming-creme/10798724.html" target="_blank">KMS Tame Frizz Taming Creme</a> other than - I bloody love it! It smells insanely good and actually does what it promises. Yes, it tames the frizz. And well, that's good enough for me! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
- Lastly, is something that has taken over my life so much that it deserves a mention. I'm back on the <a href="http://girlswithboysnames.tumblr.com/" target="_blank">Tumblr</a> wagon and it feels good. Pictures of incredible food, fashion to drool over and enough cute kittens to make anyone smile - an hour on this day a day, keeps the long-distance relationships blues away. For now anyway...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
What have you loved this February? Are you on Tumblr? Let me know!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Happy March everyone xxxx</div>
</div>

Both personally and professionally I don't think I've ever felt happier; my relationships blossomed, I made some incredible new friends and got to travel to some beautiful destinations. Of course, it wasn't without its ups and downs and leaving the UK to move to Australia tested me in numerous ways but overall, it was an amazing year.<br />
<br />
I've seen a few similar posts to these floating around and thought it was a great idea to document the past year and highlight some of my favourite moments. I hope one day, in years to come I'll stumble across these posts and all the memories will come rushing back. I don't write a traditional diary so this is the next best thing!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GveCXgCcyIg/UvTb5lLTxUI/AAAAAAAABvQ/FiDWQTJR69Y/s1600/January+2013.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: black;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GveCXgCcyIg/UvTb5lLTxUI/AAAAAAAABvQ/FiDWQTJR69Y/s1600/January+2013.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>January </b>started off with a bang in Edinburgh. I absolutely loved the city although I will admit the cold did get to me - I don't think I felt my toes for the whole 4 day trip. The rest of the month was like most Januarys - cold, wet and slow with limited funds left from Christmas! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I did kick start a new health regime though; one which, although I did fall off the wagon <strike>a few</strike> many times, is still going strong. When I wasn't at work or in the gym, I lived in my onesie and lunched out with friends - an easy way to socialise on a budget!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-c6NmKtW61NI/UvTcBIFzbXI/AAAAAAAABvk/ZWzF733E5bQ/s1600/February+2013.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: black;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-c6NmKtW61NI/UvTcBIFzbXI/AAAAAAAABvk/ZWzF733E5bQ/s1600/February+2013.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<b>February </b>arrived and with it a new lease of life. I was promoted at work which was an amazing feeling and I also received a totally unexpected rebate from the tax man - cue a shopping trip and a new baby to hang off my arm! This was my biggest purchase of the year and one I still love to this day. I think it may have started a 'new year, new bag' tradition. I have an idea on what my 2014 bag will be but I'm not too sure just yet; it's a tough decision!<br />
<br />
With my slightly larger pay cheque I also started to experience a lot more of London and fell deeper in love with the city. My friends and I discovered The Diner one rainy weekday night and it became a bit of an obsession - all of my cheat days were spent in this place! If you've never been, hot foot it to one of their locations (they have a few dotted around), order a BCC dog and a portion of sweet potato fries. You'll have to unbutton your skinnies but it will be <i>so </i>worth it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-p1Dwq8K7U9w/UvTb_bGJaDI/AAAAAAAABvY/i-hz2tfqgVM/s1600/March+2013.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: black;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-p1Dwq8K7U9w/UvTb_bGJaDI/AAAAAAAABvY/i-hz2tfqgVM/s1600/March+2013.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<br />
Everyone in the UK knows that <b>March </b>is the month where you start praying for sunshine and warmth. The winter seems endless and all you want to do is walk to work without the need for 10 layers, a hat and a pair of gloves. 2013 was not much different but we kept ourselves busy with numerous selfies, an incredible night out at The O2 to see Girls Aloud and an amazing Alice In Wonderland party. I also jumped on the designer nail polish phone cover trend - I am a bonafide sheep.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-T633bBuz6Lo/UvTcW9g9r6I/AAAAAAAABv4/pOeXAJ5kceA/s1600/April+2013.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: black;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-T633bBuz6Lo/UvTcW9g9r6I/AAAAAAAABv4/pOeXAJ5kceA/s1600/April+2013.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>April </b>was a stand out month due to an amazing work trip to our company HQ in Austin. Everyone in the office had literally been counting down the days for months and when it finally rolled around, was one of the best 5 days of the year. We got to stay in The W which I pretty much jumped for joy over and had the opportunity to meet our international colleagues which was fantastic. We also went to IHOP for breakfast - need I say more?! </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pDPGId037MU/UvTcUMW31SI/AAAAAAAABvo/swZIfCPGXN4/s1600/May+2013.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: black;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pDPGId037MU/UvTcUMW31SI/AAAAAAAABvo/swZIfCPGXN4/s1600/May+2013.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<br />
After the gluttony in Austin, <b>May </b>saw a increase in the gym time and a new appreciation for the weights room. There was also plenty of time for fun and a girls weekend in Liverpool was another highlight of the year. We slapped on the fake tan and danced the night away - I definitely want to make time for more trips like this in 2014.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VigDvVWWKR0/UvTcUvi0KjI/AAAAAAAABvs/Taz4jGfzGvo/s1600/June+2013.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: black;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VigDvVWWKR0/UvTcUvi0KjI/AAAAAAAABvs/Taz4jGfzGvo/s1600/June+2013.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<br />
Finally <b>June </b>arrived and kick started a wonderful Summer. Mitch and I flew to Mykonos, an idyllic Greek island, to spend a week with my parents. It was probably the best holiday I have ever had - the crystal clear waters, pristine white houses and delicious local foods drew me in and I honestly think I left a little piece of my heart over there. Which means I'll just <i>have </i>to go back to retrieve it....<br />
<br />
Up next - July to December....Georginahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05379661613663525458noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2349933812617017701.post-19243743870340207512013-12-07T11:53:00.000+00:002013-12-07T11:53:18.937+00:00Life Update|A Londoner on loan to SydneyAs you can probably tell from a) the title of this post and b) my recent <a href="http://instagram.com/georgeadelaide" target="_blank">Instagram</a> snaps, I recently bid the beautiful London a very tearful and emotional goodbye. The decision to leave was not an easy one but with a rather handsome and wonderful Aussie boyfriend, the move was inevitable and one that I knew I would never regret.<br />
<br />
It has been 5 weeks since we arrived now and after a shaky month of wondering if we would ever find a nice apartment, stressing about finding a job and, perhaps most difficult, attempting to survive on picking up free Wi-Fi (hence the radio silence here!), I think we are finally settled. It definitely hasn't been easy and we both miss the UK a ridiculous amount but, with the plan to stay here for a year before returning, I am excited for the coming months.<br />
<br />
I can't wait to share with you all my adventures and, most importantly, my Aussie hauls and beauty finds. But for now, a round up of the last few weeks...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EL9Oyf0TUUc/UqFlKYATQzI/AAAAAAAABvA/2L84xMreF7A/s1600/Blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EL9Oyf0TUUc/UqFlKYATQzI/AAAAAAAABvA/2L84xMreF7A/s640/Blog.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>1 </b>The absolutely beautiful Michael Kors purse that my wonderful colleagues bought me for a leaving present. They know me so well - I absolutely love it and it goes perfectly with my<a href="http://www.lifeandlashes.com/2013/02/new-inmichael-kors-hamilton-saffiano.html" target="_blank"> bag</a>. <b>2 </b>A mountain of goodies from a beautiful family friend. I packed these with me for the 24 hour flight and boy did my skin thank me for it. I landed in Sydney with skin that looked a lot better than I felt! <b>3 </b>I had a few days at home after I finished work to spend time with my family and was surprised with these beautiful flowers from one of my incredible friends from the office. Cue another huge sobbing session! <b>4 </b>If they hadn't been generous enough already, 2 of my team mates surprised me another present - An Australian survival guide. Mountains of chocolate, lots of Aussie paraphernalia and this beautiful palette. It has traveled the miles with me and it's now an everyday stable.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ur41wWpxOqc/UqFlDADlGwI/AAAAAAAABu4/A0ojDAHCL-Q/s1600/Goodbye,+for+now.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ur41wWpxOqc/UqFlDADlGwI/AAAAAAAABu4/A0ojDAHCL-Q/s640/Goodbye,+for+now.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>1 </b>A final weekend with my oldest best friends from school was finished off with brunch at The Breakfast Club. It was truly delicious and a perfect way to say a short-term goodbye. <b>2 </b>After an incredible leaving party with work, we made it to Duck and Waffle for breakfast at 5am. It was perhaps the funniest, saddest and most surreal meal I have ever had; not to mention delicious. If you're ever in London and get the late night munchies, this is the place for you. I'm already looking forward to a reunion night out followed by a trip here next year. <b>3 </b>A perfect last Sunday spent with my family and dearest friends. My beautiful 9 year old niece is my favourite person in the entire world and when she started to cry when saying goodbye, it completely broke my heart. Lots of Skype sessions are getting me through until I can see her for cuddles again! <b>4 </b>A photobooth snap from the aforementioned leaving party with the aforementioned Aussie paraphernalia. I think it sums up the night perfectly....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RDEfp7lYJOs/UqFkuQrqb-I/AAAAAAAABuw/AWrVzHhXzuo/s1600/Screen+Captures.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RDEfp7lYJOs/UqFkuQrqb-I/AAAAAAAABuw/AWrVzHhXzuo/s640/Screen+Captures.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>1 </b>I made it! <b>2 </b>A day trip to Manly polished off with a little pot of heaven. <b>3 </b>More delicious food - this time it was heaven on a plate courtesy of Pancakes On The Rocks - an absolute must if you are ever in Sydney! Thankfully I have a gym in my new building as otherwise I might return to the UK a few stone heavier than when I left.. <b>4 </b>One of my favourite days here so far. A perfect morning of watching the boys surfing at a deserted beach. It truly cemented the 'Aussie dream feeling', even after a 6am wake up call.<br />
<br />
So, what's next? A 25th birthday, a sweet new job (literally) and a run in with Russell Crowe. Watch this space....Georginahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05379661613663525458noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2349933812617017701.post-40948074176696862162013-10-07T00:19:00.002+01:002013-10-07T10:34:38.000+01:00LookFantastic Haul ft. Benefit, Redken and KorresI received a little performance related bonus through work a few weeks ago and as part of this I had a few pounds to spend at one of my favourite beauty sites - <a href="http://www.lookfantastic.com/home.dept" target="_blank">LookFantastic</a>. Along the lines of FeelUnique et al, this hub stocks a huge array of beauty products - the classics and newly hyped - with most at a reduced price compared to the RRP. There are literally hundreds of brands and thousands of products to swoon over but these were the ones that worked their way into my basket:<br />
<br />
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VFyS0fKzcJA/UlHt7LxJoTI/AAAAAAAABtc/mYt48NkPzlw/s1600/Blog+LookFantastic+Haul+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VFyS0fKzcJA/UlHt7LxJoTI/AAAAAAAABtc/mYt48NkPzlw/s640/Blog+LookFantastic+Haul+1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

<br />
<a href="http://www.lookfantastic.com/redken-extreme-anti-snap-treatment/10303794.html" target="_blank">Redken Extreme Anti Snap</a> - £12.64 (RRP £18.85)</div>
<div>
<div>
I spoke about this product way back in 2010 in my <a href="http://www.lifeandlashes.com/2010/04/hair-routine.html" target="_blank">Hair Routine</a> post and although my love affair with extensions has faded, my feelings for Anti Snap remain as strong to this day. Used post-shower after I've combed through my wet hair, this gorgeous smelling treatment helps to keep my ends in tip top condition, whilst leaving no sticky residue. For a hot tool addict like me, this is truly a holy grail product and one I will repurchase time and time again.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<a href="http://www.lookfantastic.com/korres-lip-butter-jasmine-6g/10359481.html" target="_blank">Korres Jasmine Lip Butter</a> - £6.40 (RRP £8)</div>
<div>
I have to hold my hands up here - I already have far too many lip products and definitely didn't need this <b><i>but </i></b>I'm a girl and have heard lots of good things about this so resistance was futile. I was lured in by the milky finish and moisture enhancing formula and so far, it's living up to its promises. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<a href="http://www.lookfantastic.com/ardell-duo-lash-adhesive-clear/10304794.html" target="_blank">DUO Lash Adhesive</a> - £7.95 (RRP £10)</div>
<div>
After watching numerous YouTube videos, I purchased a tube of this on a whim many moons ago. What can I say? Once you use this glue, the tiny vials you get in eyelash packs will never be the same. This stuff is of industrial strength and will ensure your lashes last the whole night, even if you don't. Try it; you won't regret it.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<a href="http://www.lookfantastic.com/elysium.search?search=benefit+tweezers" target="_blank">Tweezerman For Benefit Slant Tweezer</a> - £19.50</div>
<div>
I finally caved and spent £20 on a pair of tweezers. I haven't given them a whirl yet - Cara has inspired me to grow out my brows - but I am sure they will be as wonderful as everyone says they are. Fingers crossed.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<a href="http://www.lookfantastic.com/benefit-sunbeam-13ml/10599952.html" target="_blank">Benefit Sun Beam</a> - £19.50</div>
<div>
Never one to get along with High Beam, I didn't think it's younger, sunkissed sister Sun Beam would work for me either. Oh, how wrong I was. This highlighter is a dream to apply, blends seamlessly and leaves the cheeks with a beautifully delicate, golden glow. Although a summer favourite to enhance bronzed features, it works just as well now my tan has faded and can tell this will be an all-year-round favourite.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Benefit They're Real - Deluxe Free Sample (Worth £9.50)</div>
<div>
Although Benefit products aren't discounted on LF, currently when you buy any two products from the range you get a free sample of their cult mascara. I've wanted to try this for a while but I'm always a bit reluctant to splash out on new mascaras as I have a trusty MaxFactor favourite. Will this give me the eyelashes of my dreams? I'll let you know...</div>
<div>

Baguettes and the most delicous pain au chocolat in hand, we boarded the 7am TGV bound for Nice. The 6 hours passed quickly - with the help of a mountain of sweets and our iPads filled with rom-coms - and before we knew it, we arrived in Nice as the midday sun was beating down. A quick change, a swift application of the all-important SPF and we were on the beach. <br />
<div>
<br />
<div>
Mitch, the classic Aussie beach bum, was in heaven.<br />

<br />

I have to admit, we were slightly disappointed with the beach. It was nowhere near as pretty as we had hoped and walking along the promenade it felt like we could have been in Blackpool on a good day. But the weather was incredible and after a nap in the afternoon sun, we freshened up and set out on a mission to find the best night life in town. What we ended up finding was<a href="http://www.waynes.fr/" target="_blank"> Wayne's</a> and, if you're a backpacker in Nice, that's exactly what it is. Hot, sweaty, and so much fun. This place was packed to the rafters with people of all ages, from all walks on life, who just wanted a good time. And as we stumbled out in the early hours, the walk home through the beautiful old town was a welcome change from the usual London sights...<br />

<br />
The following morning we dragged our ourselves out of bed and onto the next train set for Monaco. 40 minutes later, we stepped out of the station and were immediately immersed in the billionaires' playground. With rows of yachts, each one larger than the other, it's incomprehensible how there can be so much money in such a small area. Hands up who wants to chip in for one of these bad boys?!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We didn't hang around the port for too long and hot-footed it to where the real action is - Monte Carlo.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
To reach the town, you have to walk along the edge of a main road before entering into a tunnel which runs underneath the Maritime Alps. With M being Australian and itching to see more of Europe, we bought 2 inter-rail tickets and set about devising a route. With only a 2 week holiday window and an almost daunting list of possible destinations, we decided that Italy, via France, would be our focus - endless sunshine, miles of beautiful coastline and an unlimited amount of carbs...it was the obvious choice.<br />
<br />
I won't lie, the planning of the trip was quite time consuming. We had to work out a few months in advance where we wanted to stop, how long we would spend in each place, what the transport links were like etcetc but this was all necessary if we were to secure accommodation in high season (mid August). As such, we finalised our plan around the end of June and then all we had to do was count down the days.<br />
<br />
Finally, August rolled around and we set off like two happy campers with our backpacks and travel pillows eager to reach our first destination...<br />
<br />
The beautiful and magical Paris.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://data3.whicdn.com/images/79814174/large.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="http://data3.whicdn.com/images/79814174/large.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><a href="http://weheartit.com/entry/79814174/tag/paris?context_user=cutegirlytings&page=16" target="_blank">[Credit]</a></span></div>
<br />
Unfortunately, our arrival was neither beautiful or magical. We had chosen the day that the Parisian heavens decided to open and rain for the first day in <i>six weeks. </i>Needless to say, we were not happy bunnies. By the time we had navigated the way to our hotel, our backpacks were soaked through and our flip-flop clad feet (we had high hopes) were more than a little bit cold and wet. However, after steaming mugs of hot chocolate, plates of syrup covered pancakes, a hot shower and a well deserved nap, the sun was (sort of) shining and we were ready for adventure.<br />
<br />
With only 8 hours or so to explore the City of Love we had our work cut out for us - we tackled the metro system, avoided the pick-pockets and also managed to meet up with one of my oldest friends who is now a total Parisian glamour puss. It was a grey but glorious day...<br />

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Every night, when darkness has fallen over the city, the Eiffel Tower is set alight with hundred and thousand of twinkling white lights. On the stroke of the hour, the usually bustling Trocadéro stills and every single person is mesmorised by the sight. To say that this was my favourite part of the day, would be an understatement. For 5 minutes, everything was calm, the sky had turned into the perfect pastel backdrop and I got a glimpse into the magic of Paris.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The only thing to top this day? A giant nutella crepe and a huge fluffy bed. And you can see how excited I was about that..... </div>

So when my sister gifted me their </span><a href="http://www.boots.com/en/Soap-Glory-Sugar-Crush-Body-Wash-500ml_1286669/" style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit; line-height: 14.25pt;" target="_blank">Sugar Crush Body Wash </a><span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit; line-height: 14.25pt;">,

vibrant younger sister. With lime
extracts and secret ingredients such as ‘COOLCAPSULE™X’ and ‘Kiwi Water
Juice’, this shower gel pulls an intense punch and definitely wakes you up in the
morning. It foams, it lathers and best
of all, it makes your bathroom smell like a sweet shop – definitely a winner! And my original fears that it wouldn't be as moisturising as its predecessor were unfounded - my skin was left just as smooth and soft due to a large helping of veggie oils which, although hardly sound glamorous, absolutely do the job.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

For a number of years now, my – extremely glamorous – Mother
has been a fan of <a href="http://www.clarins.co.uk/Pure%20Melt%20Cleansing%20Gel%20%22All%20Skin%20Types%22/C010104008,en_GB,pd.html" target="_blank">Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel </a>.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
As such, I have also been a fan for years; always stealing
it every time I’m at home. Its unique
formula – gel to oil to milk – ensures every trace of make-up is removed easily
and without irritating my annoyingly sensitive eyes. The result is beautifully cleansed skin that
is soft, plump & radiant. The only
downside? A £19.50 price tag. <o:p></o:p><br />
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Now don’t get me wrong, it is by no means the most expensive
cleanser out there but as a poor student/struggling London grad, this has
always been somewhat out of my price range and I therefore left it as a little ‘at
home treat’. Until now…<br />
<br /></div>

No7 has long championed high quality skin care at high
street prices (remember the stampedes for Protect & Perfect?) and they show
no signs of slowing down. Their offering
– <a href="http://www.boots.com/en/No7-Beautiful-Skin-Melting-Gel-Cleanser-for-Normal-Dry-Skin-150ml_1245016/" target="_blank">Beautiful Skin Melting Gel Cleanser</a></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
is pretty much the perfect dupe and comes in at a sweet £9. Couple that with their regular £5 off
skincare vouchers and you’re on to a winner!
But how do they compare?<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
In a <i>highly accurate </i>scientific
experiment, I used Clarins on one half of my face and No 7 on the other. The result?
Almost identical. </div>

Both products have exactly the same gel consistency which, when
applied to a dry face, turn into a light oil which literally melts away make
up. Once water is applied to the face,
both oils turn into a milk ensuring your face is left thoroughly cleansed and
hydrated at the same time. In short, to
the naked eye, these products are more or less, <i>exactly the same. </i>Both feel
the same and leave my skin clean, soft and radiant. I have to admit the Clarins did remove my
mascara slighter more easily but it is by no means a deal breaker and is
definitely not worth an extra £10. I
mean come on – that’s enough to buy another Essie and still have change left
over; what more could a blogger want?!<o:p></o:p></div>

As much as I love living in London, Warwickshire will always be my home. I make the journey back as regularly as possible and it's always my favourite weekend of the month. Two full days surrounded by family & friends, home cooked food and delicious treats, what's not to love?!</div>

I love getting ready on Saturdays - no stress and no time constraints. My trusty Boots tongs gave up on me a few months ago so my hot tool of choice is now the amazing <a href="http://www.enrapturehair.com/encode-totem-styler.php#&panel1-1" target="_blank">Enrapture Totem Styler</a>. <div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Some of the pretty bits and bobs I left in my room rather than take to London. The Scrabble print was a beautiful handmade birthday present from one of my very best friends.</div>
<br />
Mother Bear and I took a trip to the Bullring and I picked up a few back ups of my favourite black <a href="http://makeupwishes.blogspot.co.uk/2012/02/dream-jeans.html" target="_blank">Leigh jeans</a>. Unfortunately Topshop seem to have changed the fabric and they don't look as nice but I managed to find two pairs of the old style so I'm stocked up for a while! And with the monochrome trend in full swing I couldn't resist a stripy skater dress; perfect to throw on for work with ankle boots and my trusty leather jacket.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I also made a pretty special and rather large purchase in Selfridges but I'll leave this for a later post all of its own....<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
The weekend was finished off with a delicious treat in one of my favourite pubs in Warwick - thick hot chocolate, lashings of whipped cream and a more-than-generous handful of marshmallows...what more could you want?!<br />

<div class="MsoNormal">
This year, along with a ridiculously high proportion of the
country, I made a resolution: to lose weight.
Generic and obvious I know but I decided this would be the year that I
finally get the body I’ve always wanted, in a healthy way. So far, I’ve lost 6 pounds of my 14 pound aim
and I couldn’t be happier. It hasn’t
been easy but it also hasn’t be ridiculously hard so I thought I’d share with
you my tips and tricks – calories, exercise, chocoholism and all!<o:p></o:p><br />
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-39JrRTJzUMs/UQkm2EMuExI/AAAAAAAABtc/HY48AD1iQ-s/s1600/b7822b45b4d6cee31fa37a1d7d3e62da_large.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-39JrRTJzUMs/UQkm2EMuExI/AAAAAAAABtc/HY48AD1iQ-s/s640/b7822b45b4d6cee31fa37a1d7d3e62da_large.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<b>It’s all
in the maths</b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
At the end of the day the simple fact is this: in order to lose
weight you must burn more calories than you consume. It really is that easy – if you burn off more
than you consume, you WILL lose weight.
Now as humans, we burn calories every day just by living and as such, we
all have a BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) which is, simply put, the number of
calories you would burn if you just lay in bed all day.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
You can work yours out <a href="http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/" target="_blank">here</a>.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Once you have that number, you can use the <a href="http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/harris-benedict-equation/" target="_blank">Harris Benedict Equation</a> to work out your daily calories needs based on your lifestyle and level of
activity.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
As there are 3,500 calories in a pound of fat, you will need to
reduce this daily number by 500 to lose 1 pound a week or 1000 calories to lose

I therefore stick to the ‘1 ingredient rule.’ My favourite phrase being: ‘If it came from

Obviously nobody can be perfect 100% of the time which is where
the 80/20 rule comes in – allow yourself to be naughty 20% of the time and you

Obviously you can reduce your calories purely by food however if
you want a truly lean body, this probably won’t be enough. Muscle requires more calories to maintain
that fat meaning that once you’ve built muscle, your body will use up more
calories even when sitting watching the TV.
Also, burning calories off means you can eat more – it really is a

As a trained bra-fitter, I am extremely passionate about ensuring that all woman have the option to wear bras that not only fit them like a glove but are pretty too, no matter what size they are.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I have shouted about how to <a href="http://makeupwishes.blogspot.co.uk/2011/01/most-important-thing-you-will-ever-read_29.html" target="_blank">ensure you are wearing the right size </a>and also highlighted <a href="http://makeupwishes.blogspot.co.uk/2011/11/beautiful-bra.html" target="_blank">a great bra from Marks and Spencer</a> but now it is the turn of <a href="http://corporate.panache-lingerie.com/default.aspx" target="_blank">Panache</a> to be thrown into the spotlight...<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_uDvTYfHXQU/T9snyHiJDKI/AAAAAAAABtc/8xatG20D_Tc/s1600/panache.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="418" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_uDvTYfHXQU/T9snyHiJDKI/AAAAAAAABtc/8xatG20D_Tc/s640/panache.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div>
I first became aware of <a href="http://corporate.panache-lingerie.com/" target="_blank">Panache</a> when I was working for House of Fraser in the lingerie department in 2008. I recognised them as a brand that desired to serve women with fuller bust and for me, that is always a great thing! They dropped off the radar a little but then in the Summer of 2009, they launched <a href="http://www.cleo-lingerie.com/" target="_blank">Cleo</a>. A sister brand that has an aim to provide fashionable and vibrant trend-led designs in sizes D-J cups that, maybe most importantly, start from a 28 back.<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-QXWHbq3G1ns/T9snbIWASEI/AAAAAAAABtc/IoUliGCNptg/s1600/cleo.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="344" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-QXWHbq3G1ns/T9snbIWASEI/AAAAAAAABtc/IoUliGCNptg/s640/cleo.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
As a girl with a larger-than-average cup size, I jumped at the chance to try out one of their styles and I have to say, I am seriously impressed.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<b>Style and Cut</b></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I was sent the <a href="http://www.cleo-lingerie.com/ProductDetails.aspx?rangeID=152" target="_blank">Rihanna set</a> and although on first impressions I felt the pattern was a bit out there for me, the actual cut of the bra more than makes up for it.</div>
<div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DtMRKaJC5EM/T9soJ3d8xNI/AAAAAAAABtc/z43yUxqVLmE/s1600/Rihanna.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DtMRKaJC5EM/T9soJ3d8xNI/AAAAAAAABtc/z43yUxqVLmE/s640/Rihanna.png" width="580" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It is a classic balconette shape - wide set straps, a deep centre piece and an uplift that provide a classic rounded shape, rather than an statement deep cleavage. This is my personal favourite style as it gives you a great shape without being overly obvious which when you have large breasts, is a great option.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<b>Fit</b></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I requested a 32FF which is my standard size in popular brands such as Freya and Fantastie. I am pleased to report that this fits absolutely perfectly and is very true to size. This, is my mind, is a sign of a great company who are focused on ensuring their bras fit to industry standard. This is where companies such as La Senza fall down in my mind as the larger breast size is not their main priority.</div>
<div>
<b><br />
</b></div>
<div>
<b>Comfort</b></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This is perhaps the most important factor and one I have to say that the Rihanna bra delivers on. After a 12 hour stint, I am pleased to report no digging in or rubbing of wires and the bra was a dream to wear. It kept me supported and comfortable whilst giving a great shape at the same time.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QSmu6Ci3sck/T9sosI_3-PI/AAAAAAAABtc/O373FMo52bk/s1600/photo.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QSmu6Ci3sck/T9sosI_3-PI/AAAAAAAABtc/O373FMo52bk/s640/photo.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
To sum it all up, I am truly impressed with this bra. With a larger cup size, it is so important to wear well fitting and comfortable underwear and Cleo really delivers the goods. I have definitely got my eye on a few <a href="http://www.cleo-lingerie.com/collection.aspx" target="_blank">more designs</a> and it is safe to say, Cleo and Panache are back on my radar for good! <br />
<br /></div>
<div>
Have you tried any underwear from Cleo or Panache? Do you have trouble finding great bras that fit well or have any questions on sizing? Let me know!</div>

Two weeks overdue to be precise. Two weeks since I had a new man enter my life. <br />
<br />
His name?<br />
<br />
<i>Michael</i>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1yKqHdWCzoU/Ukn7m87UBMI/AAAAAAAABtc/5YWPRANRIx8/s1600/Photo+by+georgeadelaide+-+Google+Chrome+30092013+232903.bmp-001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1yKqHdWCzoU/Ukn7m87UBMI/AAAAAAAABtc/5YWPRANRIx8/s640/Photo+by+georgeadelaide+-+Google+Chrome+30092013+232903.bmp-001.jpg" width="638" /></a></div>
<br />
Now, I know this particular man is not just mine. He holds a special place in the lives of many but I am not one to get jealous; there is plenty of him to go around.<br />
<br />
I am of course talking about Mr Kors himself. The genius who has ensured every woman I know wants a piece from his collection. Be it a bag, a watch...we all want him in our life!<br />
<br />
For me, it's the Jet Set watch in Rose Gold. A chunky, boyfriend style chronographic wrist piece made feminine by the dainty clear stones surrounding the watch face. It's a solid, statement piece that is classic, pretty and modern all at the same time.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Since purchasing in House of Fraser, this beauty hasn't been off my wrist. It has the ability to dress up the simplest outfits and negates the need for a whole host of other accessories. This is one purchase I have no regrets over.<br />
<br />
It's safe to say - this is love and Michael will be in my life for a long time to come....Georginahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05379661613663525458noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2349933812617017701.post-86446920047521249242012-05-12T18:22:00.001+01:002012-05-12T18:25:02.877+01:00Origins GinZing Eye CreamI took my first dip into the Origins pool at Christmas. As a student, I never spent a large amount of money on skin care but since graduating, it's been a new focus. I am taking on board the thought process of the French: invest in products that will help your skin; not just cover up the problems.<br />
<br />
With that in mind, I believe a good eye cream is an essential product. They say your eyes are the window to the soul and with none of us getting any younger, a product to help delay those tell tale lines is truly a girl's best friend!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://img2.timeinc.net/instyle/images/2009/GalxMonth/11/111909-Origins-400.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="400" width="400" src="http://img2.timeinc.net/instyle/images/2009/GalxMonth/11/111909-Origins-400.jpg" /></a></div><br />
I decided on Origins' GinZing offering I will admit, mainly due to 'blogger enabling'. I had read and listened to numerous reviews that sung this product's praises. I was entranced by its promise to de-puff via its caffeine-loaded formula and instantly brighten dark circles. As a sufferer of the dreaded shadows, it seemed like a potential HG product. 5 months down the line and unfortunately I'm not so sure....<br />
<br />
I have to give GinZing its due - it does what it says on the tin. It's brightening and refreshing; it makes your eyes feel soothed and drastically more awake looking than when you first rolled out of bed. However, I feel it does this in more of a cosmetic way than an actual skin care way. The reasoning for this is that it is packed full of light reflecting particles which results in it being basically a creamy highlighter. Used sparingly it has the effect of brightening the eyes but if you apply too much, you look like you've smeared a cheap shimmery product all over your eyes in an attempt to cover your dark circles. Not ideal!<br />
<br />
I find it also has limited moisturing power and by the middle of the day, my eyes look very dry - making those little lines a tad too pronounced for my liking! This is however, not really Origins fault as it never promises GinZing to be anything more than an instant fix. <br />
<br />
Overall, this product is not for me. It doesn't live up to my new French ideals as it is purely a top layer product that will have no lasting results. I do like it, and with a four star rating, it's safe to say many others do too but at £21.00, it is nowhere near as heavy duty as I would like. <br />
<br />
And so, the eye cream search goes on. I have been trialling a few different lotions and potions but that's for another day...!<br />
<br />
NB Apolgoies for the stock photo; technology is proving to be a bit of an issue at the moment. Normal business will resume shortly!Georginahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05379661613663525458noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2349933812617017701.post-30062919885672176992012-05-07T21:07:00.003+01:002013-10-07T18:12:08.600+01:00In Style Peach SorbetSince my last haul of the<a href="http://makeupwishes.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/essie-haul.html" target="_blank"> nail polish variety</a>, I was determined they would be the last purchases for a while. Then I saw In Style's latest issue and well, the rest is history!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vkUtjV80F3E/T6gqZ2G3oEI/AAAAAAAABtc/OXy8BYYjbgs/s1600/%2521%2521Blog9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vkUtjV80F3E/T6gqZ2G3oEI/AAAAAAAABtc/OXy8BYYjbgs/s640/%2521%2521Blog9.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
Nails Inc latest freebie offerings (they are so good to us!) come in 3 beautiful Spring-appropriate shades and as soon as I saw the selection, I knew Peach Sorbet had to be mine. The name conjures up a colour that is delicate, pretty and feminine; and the result is just that.<br />
<br />
As for the application, the first layer results in a surprisingly pigmented and opaque finish, although some-what streaky. After a second coat, the colour is truly opaque and could well be left here - as I have done on my toes - but I did apply a third and final coat to ensure no streaks. After a top layer with Seche Vite, you are left with a beautiful and glossy light peach shade that is nude in some lights and slightly pink in others. It is almost like a peachy cousin of <a href="http://makeupwishes.blogspot.co.uk/2010/05/notd-product-rave.html" target="_blank">OPI's Mod About You</a>; creamy and very light but with enough colour that it stops your hands looking like a corpse and will also look amazing offset with a deep tan.<br />
<br />
I think this is going to have to be a shade that I will buy multiple copies of the same magazine for. I want back ups of this and for the price of £3.80, it'd be rude not to!<br />

Since then, there have been no more reviews. Rest assured, I am still very much a serial faux-tanner but the St. Moriz gave me everything I looked for in a tan, so I didn't feel the need to branch out. At just a few pounds a bottle, my previous faves - Xen-Tan and St. Tropez were blown out of the water! <br />
<br />
However, the time has come for a new favourite to take over!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fuLFaFGDaPg/T5MWLKrasKI/AAAAAAAABtc/wmyJT6GiKKg/s1600/blogger-image-1443607091.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fuLFaFGDaPg/T5MWLKrasKI/AAAAAAAABtc/wmyJT6GiKKg/s640/blogger-image-1443607091.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<i>Same brand; different tan.</i><br />
<br />
The St. Moriz lotion, like it's mousse counterpart, is heralded as an instant tan. However, do not be fooled! On application, you will look like the mud monster but after a minimum of 4 hours and a quick shower, you'll look like a bronzed goddess for a good few days!<br />
<br />
And here are the other reasons I love it so much and why it beat the mousse format to the top spot..<br />
<br />
<h3>
<b>Application</b></h3>
<br />
This really is a dream to apply. It glides on effortlessly, skims over all those knobbly knees and elbows and makes you realise just how hard the mousse is to apply.<br />
<br />
5 minutes and you're whole body is done - perfect!<br />
<br />
<h3>
Colour</h3>
<br />
I won't lie, the colour is quite dark but I would say is a happy medium between the original mousse and the dark version and is also much more of a natural olive tone. One application is perfect for me with my natural pale skin but I think it is definitely buildable if you want to be darker!<br />
<h3>
<br />Staying Power</h3>
<br />
For me, this is probably the most important aspect of a tan. If I've spent a lot of time prepping my skin and painstakingly applying a product, I want to be happy knowing that it will have longevity; ensuring I don't have to go to all that effort every other day. I also want it to wear evenly so I don't have to worry about covering up unsightly patches or spending hours scrubbing it all off just to start again.<br />
<br />
This lotion? Wins in both aspects. With a daily light exfoliation in the shower - which I do religiously - this tan wears beautifully. No patches; no stubborn areas. Just seven days of gradual fading before you're ready to start again. Also, if you do maybe feel like a full body exfoliation, it comes off easily without you having to scrub your skin until it is raw. This is where the mousse falls down, as does Xen-Tan.<br />
<br />
<h3>
Overall</h3>
<br />
A truly amazing tan. Beautiful colour, simple application and longevity which means it saves so much time and effort. If you are a label junkie like me - do not be put off. The affordable price is not relative to the result. I just stocked up due to the current selling price of 99p in Tesco - after all, it would've been rude not to..!!<br />
<br />
Are you a St. Moriz fan? How do you rate the Lotion vs. Mousse? I'd love to know your thoughts!<br />

I find the quality lies somewhere between Primark and Topshop and thankfully, so does the price. Zara is by all means probably my favourite high street store but H&M comes a very close second. It has definitely come on leaps & bounds in the last few years and doesn't have the jumble sale feel it once used to have. With the <a href="http://www.hm.com/gb/conscious-collection" target="_blank">Conscious Collection</a> also at the forefront of their latest campaigns - they are the biggest user of organic cotton in the world - you can also feel you're doing some good whilst purchasing your cheaper-than-the average garments!<br />

<br /></div>
<div>
I grabbed these boots as soon as I saw them as they are exactly what I have been after for some time; a relatively low wedge that I can tuck my jeans into and wear on a daily basis without looking ridiculous tottering around in my usual array of stilettos. I wore these tonight with my trusty <a href="http://makeupwishes.blogspot.co.uk/2012/02/dream-jeans.html" target="_blank">Topshop Leigh jeans</a> and as well as looking stylish, they were ridiculously comfortable.<br />

<br /></div>
<div>
From the aforementioned Conscious Collection, <a href="http://www.hm.com/gb/conscious-collection#collection/woman/1" target="_blank">these blouses </a>are so pretty, beautifully flattering and a steal at £9.99 - so good, I had to buy in multiple colours; it would have been rude not to!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
A few other bits also caught my eye - namely the <a href="http://www.hm.com/gb/subdepartment/LADIES?Nr=4294956841" target="_blank">gorgeous collection of bikinis</a> they have this year which had me conjuring up images of sun drenched beaches and crystal clear sea - but I restrained myself; for the moment!</div>

Now, where did I put that holiday brochure....</div>
