Saturday Shenanigans

After a very long and draining week at work, I couldn't wait to hit the town with my best friends and enjoy myself a little.  I picked up a new dress from H&M, slapped the St Moriz on and let my hair down for another classic night out in Leamington Spa.  It may be a little town but for anyone who has witnessed it, they know it holds its own on the nightlife scene.

Today has consisted of sleeping in, McDonalds, a spot of shopping and blogging - exactly what Sundays are made for!

Living for the weekend

Although I'm not quite part of the 9-5 grind just yet, the weekend still heralds an excitement all of its own!  After a week in bed suffering with flu, I couldn't wait to don my glad rags and finally go out with my Penelope Cruz make up look on.
As is always the way, it didn't turn out as good as last week - and my lashes would just not stay on - but I still took a few snaps for you all!

As I drove last night I hardly had anything to drink and I'm now full of the joys of Spring (...or Summer) and convinced that this no drinking thing is definitely the way forward!

I hope you're all having a fantastic weekend! xxxxx

An old favourite...

My love affair with MAC's Hush Cream Colour Base is no secret... since I purchased it last year it has barely been off my cheekbones.  So when I realised to my dismay last week that I literally had only a scrap left (..I think I'd been in denial for weeks at how fast I was running out) and no time to repurchase, I had a rummage in my stash and came across a previous love...

Prestige Skin Loving Minerals Glam Tan Bronzer

Although showcased in a previous FOTD in the form of a bronzer, this time I lightly swept it just along the tops of my cheekbones to provide the 'lit-from-within' dewiness I love.  I am not sure this would work with my normal skin tone - as the product is quite dark - but with my Spanish tan still lingering, it took on the role of a highlighter perfectly.

Cue embarrassing photo from a recent night out...

If someone has a hat on, you just have to try it on...right?!

As well as the gorgeous sheen and fantastic pigmentation, this product applies beautifully; you can build it up as you wish and takes on the role of an eyeshadow perfectly.  The mineral based product means it's gentle on your skin and at just £9.49, it is gentle on your purse too.

Prestige is one of those brands that I always overlook but out of the few products I do own, they are seriously impressive and I go back to time and time again.  The Pure Shimmer version of this product is definitely on my radar for when I'm less tanned...

Do you have any Prestige recommendations?

Face and Nails of the Week

I have been happily stuck in a rut with my make up this past week or so.  I've now got this down to a fine art and it literally only takes me a few minutes in the morning.  In this picture, I've gone heavy on the highlighter and added some 110 Eyelure lashes - my new absolute faves!

You can also spot my newest nail varnish purchase - Rimmel's 'In Style Coral'.  It is is a beautiful pink-toned coral that is near to Rose Libertine but slightly more coral toned and therefore an absolute hit with me!  Between this and Barry M's Peach Melba, I'm set for colours this summer!

New Year's Eve Make Up

Happy New Year my fellow beauty addicts!

This New Year's Eve was relatively low key - good food and drink with some of my dearest friends and then a trip to a local small establishment for drinks at midnight and dancing into the early hours..

I had planned to dress in line with this casual plan but who was I kidding?!  I teamed a sparkly dress with killers heels and got my make up stash out - I can't resist a chance to get dolled up!

MaxFactor Xperience Foundation
Bobbi Brown Corrector
Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer
No 7 Créme Touch Translucent Powder
MAC Dainty Mineralize Blush

MAC Dark Edge (from Cult of Cherry Tempting quad) through brows

MAC Bare Canvas Paint - all over lid
Urban Decay Gunmetal - all over lid
Urban Decay Creep - blended out through outer third and crease
Barry M Navy Glitter Dust - lightly placed over entire lid
L'oreal Voluminuous Mascara

17 Beehive Lipstick
Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lipgloss

I gave the Xperience foundation another try since the texture of my skin has improved significantly since using the Oilatum cream.  Unfortunately, it still didn't last long and is definitely a day-only foundation from now on.  And the Soap and Glory lipgloss?  Amazing and addictive...!

Thank God it's the weekend

A sort of blog-vlog if you will :)

After a long week of mainly ten/eleven hour days, on Friday all I wanted to do was crash.  However, never one to miss out on a social opportunity I hot-footed it to my best friend's house ten miles away to see all my old school friends.  We had a fantastic time laughing, reminiscing and munching some highly calorific treats such as these meringues I threw together ....

After all this I didn't get the early night I needed and then being so dedicated to the shopping cause I woke at 8 on Saturday to go to a nearby open-air market which always promises a bargain.
My early morning was not in vain - a Topshop £28 dress for £6 (pictures later) and these little gems:

John Freida Brilliant Brunette Luminous Colour Glaze - £1

L'oreal Studio Secrets Primer - £2

I've always meant to try these out but never got around to it - for those prices how could I resist?!

I was home and exhausted by midday and after a quick application of St Moritz I fell into bed and had a fantastic nap.  You know, one of the good ones where you fall asleep easily and sleep for just the right amount of time to ensure you wake refreshed and not groggy.  As a student I have perfected the art of napping...!

I then embarked on the mission of getting ready to head out for the night and after a few hours of primping and preening I was ready to go...I could not be a wash-n-go girl if I tried..!

This was the dress mentioned earlier - I was really not sure about it as 99% of the time I wear black on a night out but I warmed to it in the end.  Variety is the spice of life and all that....

I teamed it with just a black skinny belt and my new Bertie shoes which I couldn't be more in love with if I tried.

The elasticated straps mean they are so insanely comfortable and the fact that I got them in the sale for a tiny price make them 100 times more beautiful.

My make up was pretty standard for me - bit of MaxFactor foundation, 3 tone smokey eye, Hush cream colour base and pinky lips and cheeks.  Classic combo!

I had such a fun filled evening with my bestest and even though one too many tequilas were consumed I actually feel bright and breezy today!

I am going away on Tuesday for 2 weeks so today's tasks are to start packing and schedule some posts - typical lazy Sunday :)

Also, I will be watching The Wanted's music video about a million times to catch a glimpse of this beaut..

I mean...his surname is George - it'd be rude not to marry him right?!

Love Mrs George George

Out and about this week - Clothes, Make up, Hair & Nails

Dress: Camden Market
Belt: ASOS

It has been so beautifully hot this week that I have spent most of my time in the garden but when needs must and I've had to pop out, I've chosen this dress a fair few times.  It's far too hot to be faffing about with multiple items of clothing so I've just thrown this on, belted up and gone about my business!  The make up has been super-natural - Nivea young tinted moisturiser; any mascara and a clear gloss.

Nivea Young Tinted Moisturiser
L'oreal Studio Secrets HD Smoothing Foundation
Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer
ELF Mineral Foundation - to set

No 7 Mosaic Bronzer - to contour
MAC Hush Cream Colour Base - highlight
No 7 Pink Petal Blush

MAC Bare Canvas Paint - all over lid
Zara black eyeshadow - in crease & outer third
No 7 grey/silver - blended into black
ELF Medium Eyebrow Kit

Prestige Silk Lipliner
Barry M 147 Lip paint
Jemma Kidd Shell Lipgloss

Earrings: Accessorize

Hair: Styled as in my hair routine

A bit more glam for a night on the town!  I did nearly die from the heat when getting ready though - 28 degree weather + hair dryer + curling tongs = a melted George ...!

Nails of the week: OPI - Got A Date To-knight

I really cannot fault this polish - gorgeous wearable pink, applies very smoothly and this photo is after 5 days of wear.  One of my faves for sure!!

School's out for Summer...

Hola chicas!

Apologies for the lack of blogging - I have been in Spain for the last week as a treat for finishing the 2nd year of University.  I have lots of posts planned and I'm sure one or two holiday snaps will sneak in somewhere...

As for now, this is a super quick post to show you what I wore for a night out last week to celebrate the end of exams...

I love how my make up turned out thanks to my new favourite product - MAC's Hush Cream Colour Base.  It gives your skin that gorgeous dewy effect we all know and love.  My dress is from Zara.  Any other questions please ask!

Normal blogging will resume shortly

Globall

On Friday night I attended my end of year Geography ball.  I am studying a joint honours degree of Geography and Geology so we had the choice of two balls to attend but the Geography department won us over this year!  So together with two of my favourite Geography/Geology girls we got all dressed up and headed to the Globall.

It was a fantastic night of champagne, dinner, jazz and dancing - we all had such a great time.  It's nice to get really dressed up every one in a while and see the lads switch their Jack Wills hoodies for DJs and bow ties!

I wore my make up exactly the same as my last OOTN post.  I like it as it is a smoky eye but it is more subtle than my usual night eye make up and my hair was simply wavy and full of extensions, as per usual!

Alice, Myself & Imogen in her beautiful Pixie Lott for Lipsy dress

With our gorgeous friend Felix looking very dapper!

I hope everyone had a great weekend too! xxx
